J. Scott McDowell has been a Preservation Carpenter since 1995. A graduate of the North Bennet Street School in Boston, his journeyman work included restoration of the historic doors at Harvard University's Memorial Hall/Saunders Theater. Eight years as a woodcrafter for the National Park Service/ Building Conservation Branch of the Northeast Cultural Resource Center included work on the Old State House in Boston, the USS Constitution Museum, John Quincy Adams law offices, and Miriam House in Concord, Massachusetts - a "witness structure" to the Battle of Lexington and the "Shot Heard 'Round the World". Scott opened the Rockwood Joinery in 2004.
